How is an ozone dosing jet aerator used for ozone advanced oxidation and ozone mixing?
The ozone dosing jet aerator is a gas-liquid mixing device in the ozone advanced oxidation process. The pressurized water flow forms a high-speed jet when passing through the nozzle of the jet aerator and creates a negative pressure at the throat, drawing the ozone gas in. Ozone and water are mixed through shearing and turbulent mixing inside the jet aerator, forming a gas-liquid mixed flow; the mixed flow then continues mass transfer and reaction in the diffuser section, the conveying pipeline and the ozone contact tank.
The main functions of the jet aerator include:
- Drawing ozone into the water flow steadily;
- Forming fine, relatively uniformly distributed bubbles;
- Enlarging the contact area between ozone and wastewater;
- Strengthening ozone mixing in the contact tank;
- Providing mass transfer conditions for ozone advanced oxidation processes such as decolorization, deodorization and pollutant oxidation.
The ozone dosing effect is related to water depth, gas-water ratio, hydraulic retention time, jet aerator inlet and outlet pressures, water temperature, salinity, pH, water quality and ozone concentration. Therefore, the jet aerator needs to be selected according to the actual ozone dosing rate, gas supply pressure, motive water flow rate and contact tank conditions, and cannot be determined only by the pipe diameter or the treated water flow.
