How is a wastewater treatment plant oxygenation jet aerator used for aerobic aeration and aeration upgrades?
The wastewater treatment plant oxygenation jet aerator is a gas-liquid mixing device in the aerobic aeration process. The circulating water forms a high-speed jet and negative pressure after passing through the nozzle of the jet aerator, drawing air or oxygen in; after shearing, turbulent and diffuser mixing with the wastewater, the gas forms a gas-liquid mixed flow, which is then subjected to secondary jet aeration by the booster nozzles in the tank.
Its main functions include:
- Supplementing air or oxygen to the aerobic tank;
- Forming smaller and evenly distributed bubbles to improve oxygen mass transfer;
- Driving the circulation of the water body in the tank and strengthening the mixing of wastewater with activated sludge;
- Reducing local dissolved oxygen deficiency and mixing dead zones;
- Being used for the aeration upgrade of existing surface aeration or other aeration systems.
A jet aeration system usually consists of a circulating water pump, jet aerators, a gas supply pipeline and booster nozzles in the tank. Before the upgrade, the selection should be based on the actual oxygen demand, tank size, water depth, motive water flow rate, gas supply pressure, outlet back pressure and the existing pipeline. The original technical documents record construction cases carried out without stopping or draining the water, but whether this upgrade method can be adopted still needs to be determined based on the on-site installation and safety conditions.
